SDVoyager Interview
Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Anderson.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours? I am fascinated with imagery, art, and color. Since I was a child this fascination developed into an obsession that went from coloring books and comics, to more refined attempts at art in High School. Next, I took my studies further into college, and after earning a degree in Fine Art, I began my career as a professional artist.
Please tell us about your art. I paint large murals on buildings, as well as commissions on canvas, and outdoor scenes on location. My Art is made by painting many different subjects, nature, people, landscape, animals etc.
I choose a subject, get to know that subject through research and then paint it in color on either canvas or in murals. My inspiration comes from the desire to create artwork that moves people to want keep looking at what I’ve created.
I am always painting and drawing. I dream of making a significant contribution to the art world, and hope for my artwork to keep developing towards that end.
As an artist, how do you define success and what quality or characteristic do you feel is essential to success as an artist?
My life, passion and how I make a living is through the making of art. If I can keep creating my vision through painting, and I keep evolving and improving my talent, I consider that success. Even if I do not become rich and famous I will have enjoyed a very rich life regardless.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work? Much of my work can be seen all over San Diego on buildings, in restaurants & galleries. However, I have murals in Mexico, Costa Rica, Colorado, Las Vegas, Hawaii and all over Northern, Central & Southern California. I have an online-gallery and shop on my website www.KevinAndersonPaintings.com
my Facebook & Instagram = @KevinAndersonPaintings is always up to date.
People can support my work by checking out my social media & website and sharing my art with their friends. Also people can consider contacting me to paint a mural or even purchase my original canvas art.
